Dublin night-time water restrictions to continue until Thursday
Dublin City Council has said production at one of its water treatment plants has begun to improve.
However, it said night-time restrictions to the supply will continue until at least Thursday, from 8pm each evening to 7am the following morning.
Engineers say storage levels at Ballymore Eustace in Kildare are still at an "unsustainably low level".
Michael Phillips, Dublin City Engineer, said: "The key to the successful resumption of full treatment capacity is our systematic and structured approach in which treated water quantities are increased in a very controlled manner. However, levels are still 20% below that required to meet daily demand for the Dublin region. We also need to replenish levels at our treated water reservoirs which still remain at a critically low level."
Mr Phillips urged consumers in Dublin to continue to conserve water, in an effort to help in restoring the normal level of water supply.
