The remains of 29-year-old Peter Gunn were discovered at Dunsoghly Lane, The Ward, Co. Dublin in January 2010, 11 days after he went missing.

Alan Hart from Clareville Grove in Glasnevin has been charged with his murder.

His reply to Gardai when he was charged with murder this morning was: "I didn't do it".

The 31-year-old is accused of killing Peter Gunn who was last seen alive on January 4, 2009, having spent an evening in a pub on Parnell Street.

Eleven days later his decomposed body was found in a drain on a back road in north Dublin.

Alan Hart, who is in receipt of social welfare, was granted legal aid and will appear again in Court next week.
