Dublin grenade made safe


A grenade that's about a century old has been made safe in Ranelagh in Dublin.

It was found by a man out digging in his garden this afternoon, and is thought to date from the War of Independence.

The army bomb disposal squad removed the badly-corroded grenade and destroyed it in a controlled explosion.
