Dublin couple win €500k in Lotto Euromillions Plus draw

A lucky young Dublin couple have won €500,000 in the Euromillions Plus draw on Friday September 23.

The pair, who wish to keep their win private, bought their ticket in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin on the day of the draw.

The lucky wife realised their good fortune while procrastinating over some housework chores on the day after the draw, “I was at home on the Saturday evening and I was looking at a massive heap of ironing which needed to be done. Before I started, I picked up my ticket and checked my numbers on the phone. I joked that if I won I would just buy new clothes for everyone instead of doing the ironing,” she laughed.

“Sure enough, there were my EuroMillions Plus numbers all in a row. I was absolutely speechless. I had to keep checking the ticket all weekend to make sure I wasn’t making a mistake. It was only when I contacted the National Lottery first thing on Monday morning, that I let myself believe it was true” she said.

On their plans for their winnings, the winning mother said, “The only thing we need is a proper family home. My husband and I got married and had a family when we were quite young so we were never really in a position to save for a mortgage. We’re really looking forward to going shopping for a family home,” she added.
