Dublin Council looking for developers to build social housing
Dublin City Council wants to team up with developers to build social and private homes on five vacant sites.
According to the Irish Times, more than 30 hectares of council land have been earmarked for the projects.
Three of the sites are in the north of the city with the other two in Ballyfermot and Cherry Orchard.
It is envisaged that they would provide large numbers of houses in the 'short to medium term'.
The idea is similar to the old Public-Private Partnership system, and the council is now inviting expressions of interest from builders.
