Dublin college students face rise in campus rents

Four Dublin colleges are hiking the cost of renting accommodation on campus from September.

UCD, Trinity, DCU and Griffith College will increase prices by between 3% and 13%.

In the case of UCD, the annual cost of taking a room at Belgrove is due to go up by €580.

According to the Irish Times, the colleges say it is down to the rising cost of services and should be taken in the context of increases in the private rental market.
