Dublin City Council spend €50k a year on portable toilets

Dublin City Council is spending almost €1,000 a week so that revellers do not have to spend a penny.

The council is forking out €50,000 every year on portable toilets in places like Camden Street and Westmoreland Street.

The scheme was implemented in co-operation with gardaí to stop late night drinkers from urinating on the streets.

However, Richard Guiney from Dublin City Business Improvement District, wants to see permanent toilets set up.
