Dublin bomb alert an 'elaborate hoax'

A security alert which forced the evacuation of a number of buildings in Dublin city centre this morning, including a school, has been declared an "elaborate hoax".

A security alert which forced the evacuation of a number of buildings in Dublin city centre this morning, including a school, has been declared an "elaborate hoax".

The suspicious package was found at around 9.30am on North Brunswick Street.

Gardaí and bomb disposal officers were dispatched to the scene, but following an examination of the suspect device, the alert has now been called off.
