Dublin Airport could be facing serious disruption after fire and police service voted by 78% in favour of industrial action, The Sunday Business Post has reported.
Unions and management are engaged in a battle over holidays for staff.
It is expected that if they were to proceed with industrial action, they would give the airport two week's notice of strike action.
A DAA spokesman has described any talk of industrial action as "highly premature", however.
"Reports of potential industrial action in the short-term are highly premature and misleading," he said.
"The staff in question are covered by a registered agreement, which states that before any industrial action can take place, all disputes must be referred to the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) and if necessary, the Labour Court.
"The issue in question, which relates to the way in which annual leave is allocated, has not yet been referred to any third-party institution.
"The issue solely relates to when staff can take annual leave and the vast majority of staff have received their first choice of leave allocation under the new system."
If the fire service is withdrawn, the airport would be forced to shut down.
