Around 150 new jobs will be created during the upgrade of the runway at Dublin Airport.

The DAA said that the complete resurfacing of the existing main runway will take 18 months of night works.

The work will start today and will take place overnight between 11pm and 5am, for up to 18 months.

It is the first time the facility has had a full overhaul since it opened in 1989.
