Heroin, tablets and cannabis with a total value of approximately €700,000 have been seized by Co Meath, it has emerged.

At approximately 3.30pm yesterday afternoon, three men, aged 31, 35 and 44 years respectively, were arrested at Rathkenny, Co Meath, following a planned operation by gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit.

A quantity of cannabis herb was recovered at scene.

Quantities of heroin, tablets and cannabis herb and resin were seized in follow-up searches, as well as a large sum of cash.

The arrested men are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking), Act, 1996 at Kells and Navan Garda Stations.

Investigations by Garda Organised Crime Unit and the Garda National Drugs Unit are ongoing.
