A group of disgruntled Labour politicians have called for three new tax measures aimed at raising one billion euro a year.
Deputies Tommy Broughan and Patrick Nulty, who lost the Parliamentary Party whip, and MEP Nessa Childers want a wealth tax, financial transaction tax and new 48% income tax rate for those earning over €100,000 euro.
They say health, education and social protection have now been cut to the absolute bone.
Deputy Tommy Broughan says he hopes the Labour members of the Cabinet will listen.
