A detective has refuted defence claims that he threatened murder-accused Barry Doyle to "come clean" over the killing of Limerick rugby player Shane Geoghegan.
The Central Criminal Court has heard the detective made a plea to the 26-year-old while in custody, but that he denies backing the accused into a corner and saying that something would happen to his girlfriend and children if he didn't come clean.
Barry Doyle of Portland Row in Dublin denies murdering 28-year-old Shane Geoghegan - who was shot near his home on November 9, 2008 in a case of mistaken identity.
