Details of an investigation into flooding at Letterkenny Hospital are to be published at the end of next month.
In the latest incident at the facility, the emergency department had to be shut for three hours in August after torrential rainfall.
The report has found the rain was even more intense than that seen in July of last year, when flooding caused nearly €40m worth of damage.
However the second incident did not cause as many problems.
A drainage trench has since been dug to catch run-off surface water, and a vehicle with pumping facilities has also been stationed in the car park.
