Dept seeks ways to identify underperforming teachers
26/03/2005 - 16:40:04It is being reported that the Department of Education is considering new methods of identifying, and where necessary, removing underperforming teachers.
One teacher has been sacked for incompetence over the past four years.
Many teachers opt to take early retirement if they no longer feel up to the job.
The Parents Education and Children's Health group says there should be more options, including training, available to teachers who find their jobs difficult.
