Department gets more than 16,000 welfare fraud tip-offs
Officials have received more than 16,000 tip-offs about suspected welfare fraud this year.
The Department of Social Protection runs a phone line and website for anonymous reports from members of the public.
A person's payments are not stopped on the basis of a report to the department, but it could prompt a review of their entitlements.
