Demonstrators will gather at The Spire in Dublin today to call for the US government to release whistleblower Chelsea Manning.
The 25-year-old - formerly known as Bradley Manning - will spend up to 35-years in prison for handing thousands of military documents to WikiLeaks.
Manning has been hailed as a hero by many - who say she shed new light on American foreign policy.
Organiser Karl Gill said he wants the Government to tell the US that it is not happy with Manning's treatment.
"If the Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore was to come out and condemn this and say that we need to respect whistleblowers rights that would be fantastic," he said.
"We hope the Irish Government is doing something more so to expose the Irish governments complicity in the US foreign policy."
