A new recruitment campaign has been launched for the permanent and reserve Irish Defence Forces.

A new recruitment campaign has been launched for the permanent and reserve Irish Defence Forces.

400 personnel are to be hired by the Defence Force with up to 500 recruits sought for the Reserve Defence Force.

Minister Justice, Equality and Defence Alan Shatter has said the move will help to ensure the strength of the Defence Forces is maintained at 9,500.

Applications are being accepted through the Defence Forces Ireland website.
