Dáil suspended after Tánaiste claims 'history of paedophilia in Republican movement'

The Dáil has been suspended again following another dispute between Sinn Féin and the Ceann Comhairle, Sean Barrett.

The dispute came after Joan Burton made comments about a known sex abuser and his links to the Republican movement.

Mary Lou McDonald had asked the Tánaiste to publish an internal Garda review of its handling of abuse by former Gaeltacht teacher, Domhnall O Lubhlaí.

However, Sinn Féin deputies were infuriated when the Tánaiste said there was a history of paedophilia within the Republican movement.
