Cyclists facing seven new infringements

New laws today have introduced fines against cyclists for the first time, with seven new infringements.

The new rules will see fixed charge notices issued to cyclists with a fine of €40.

The infringements include breaking a red light, cycling without reasonable consideration – or in a pedestrianised area – not wearing proper lights at night, or failing to stop for a school warden or at a railway crossing.
