A cyclist has been killed in a crash in Co. Cork this afternoon.

A cyclist has been killed in a crash in Co. Cork this afternoon.

The accident involving a tractor happened on the N28 between the Shannon Park roundabout and Shanbally at around midday.

The body of the woman in her 60s has been removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured in the accident.

Diversions are in place. Traffic approaching from Shannon Park roundabout is diverted to Carrigaline and traffic from Ringaskiddy is diverted to Rapheen.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Angelsea St. Garda Station on 021 4522000, The Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
