Cyclist dies after being hit by truck in Dublin

A 51-year-old male cyclist has died after he was hit by a truck on the south quays in Dublin city centre this morning.

A 51-year-old male cyclist has died after he was hit by a truck on the south quays in Dublin city centre this morning.

The accident happened on Wellington Quay just before 8.30am.

The road remains closed for technical examination and motorists are being advised to avoid the city centre if possible due to ongoing traffic delays.

The 'bus gate' at College Green has been opened to all traffic in an effort to alleviate the disruption.
