New figures reveal Leas Cross received €5m from Govt

Leas Cross nursing home in north Co Dublin received almost €5m in taxpayer's money before its closure last year.

According to HSE figures, the private nursing home was paid almost €3.9m for contract beds for public patients and €1m in subvention payments for private patients.

Leas Cross was closed down following concerns over the conditions in which elderly people were being kept.
