British inquest concludes Irishman was unlawfully killed

An inquest in Britain has concluded that an Irishman stabbed to death in London last year was unlawfully killed.

John Coffey died after he was stabbed in the stomach on the platform of Wood Street station in Walthamstow last September.

Mr Coffey, a labourer from Co Kerry, had been living in nearby Hackney.

Nobody has ever been charged or convicted in connection with the killing, despite a £20,000 (€29,000) reward for information.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in April in connection with the murder, but was released without charge.
