Still no running water for 5,000 Roscommon homes

Water supplies have still to be restored to more than 5,000 homes in Co Roscommon following pollution to the water source last weekend.

The discovery of a diesel spillage at Lisheen Lake near Strokestown was made on Monday.

Council crews have been trying to bring an alternative supply into operation in recent days.

The council hopes the water supply will be restored to households in the north east of the county by tomorrow evening.
