Body recovered in search for missing Lough Derg canoeist
23/01/2006 - 08:08:48Divers searching for a canoeist missing on Lough Derg have recovered a body from the Co Clare lake.
The body was found shortly after 9pm last night and taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick, where a post mortem will be carried out today.
The remains are believed to be those of a man who fell into the lake after his canoe capsized yesterday afternoon.
Divers, rescue boats and a helicopter crew were all involved in the search for the canoeist.
