Customs officers have seized drugs worth €60,000 in an operation at Shannon Airport.

During routine passenger profiling, a sniffer dog sparked concerns about two Irish men in their 40s who disembarked from a flight from Spain on Sunday.

They were questioned by Revenue officials and later taken to hospital where 100 pellets containing the drugs, were passed under medical supervision.

Gardaí have arrested two men and investigations are ongoing.
