Household savings and disposable income increased last year, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office.

Household savings and disposable income increased last year, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office.

Gross household savings increased by almost €1.8m to just over €11m in 2012.

Gross disposable income of households also increased by 2.5%.

Higher wages and profits of the self employed were the main factors which contributed to the increase.
