CSO survey: Almost a third of students sleep with phone under their pillow

A CSO report has found that 30% of secondary school students sleep with their mobile phone under their pillow.
The latest CensusAtSchool survey also showed that 53% of respondents opt for cereal at breakfast time.
Some 17% choose toast, while 6% eat a cooked breakfast before classes.
When it comes to sport, 14% prefer to take part in soccer, while Gaelic football is almost as popular on 13% and 9% play basketball.
The most famous Olympian identified by those polled was Usain Bolt at 34%, while 13% mentioned Irish woman Sonia O’Sullivan.
A total of 7,150 secondary school attendees from 216 schools completed the Phase11 questionnaire of the CensusAtSchool survey between August 2011 and August 2012.
