Croke Park residents' talks break down without agreement

A meeting between Croke Park residents, businesses, GAA officials and promoters to discuss the summer concerts at the stadium, broke down without agreement last night.

Local groups are furious at the disruption the eight concerts from Garth Brooks and One Direction will bring to the area.

Residents say they were never consulted and hosting eight concerts is in breach of a planning agreement.

Dublin North Inner City Councillor Neil Ring says locals made it very clear last night that this is not about compensation.

The promoters and the GAA were at tall times talking about the legacy for the area - basically, as one person said, you're making prostitutes of the people - and other people said we're not going to be bribed."
