Creighton reveals threatening letters over abortion
The European Affairs Minister Lucinda Creighton has revealed she has received vicious, personal, and threatening letters and emails from both pro-choice and pro-life groups on the issue of abortion.
In an interview with the Irish Examiner, the Dublin South East TD said she condemns the correspondence, which she has described as containing "vile language."
She also said she is in favour of being bound by a whip on any possible Oireachtas vote on abortion.
However, she said the issue of suicide being used as a grounds for a termination was a “grey area” which she did not favour.
