The Minister for European Affairs Lucinda Creighton has dismissed suggestions that there are divisions in Government over the EU Fiscal Treaty.
It follows remarks by Labour's Joan Burton who called for a concession on Ireland's bank debt in return for a yes vote in the referendum.
Ms Burton's comments were contradicted by the Taoiseach and Tánaiste, both of whom said the two issues should be kept separate.
Speaking in Dublin, European Affairs Minister Lucinda Creighton denied there are divisions in Government over the issue.
Ms Creighton said: "There are no divisions in Government. You have heard in the last couple of days the Tánaiste, the leader of the Labour Party, and the Taoiseach, the leader of the Fine Gael Party, and many, many other ministers saying that this is an absolutely essential treaty for Ireland's interests and the interests of our recovery.
"That includes the Minister for Social Protection; we are all very much determined and will campaign very rigorously to ensure that this treaty is ratified."
