Cowen and bank executives 'may face questions on bank guarantees'15/04/2012 - 11:15:55
It has been reported that efforts will be made to shed light on the decisions which led to the 2008 bank guarantees.
The Dáil's Public Accounts Committee reportedly wants a number of people to face questions on the matter, including the then Taoiseach Brian Cowen and the former chief executives at Bank of Ireland and AIB.
The questioning would be aimed at "lifting the cloud of mystery" that surrounds the events of September 29, 2008, and the subsequent nationalisation of Anglo Irish Bank.
