Coveney confident after visit of Chinese Vice President

The Minister for Agriculture says the visit of the Chinese Vice President will have a huge knock-on effect for the agriculture and food industry here.

Simon Coveney says China is an extremely important market for Irish businesses.

During the final day of his 3 day visit Xi Jinping attended a forum on trade and investment hosted by Enterprise Ireland.

Minister Coveney says good relations between Ireland and China will result in huge opportunities for both countries:

"There has been a significant increase in the interest coming from China in terms of investment opportunities in Ireland, but also in terms of opening up partnerships that can allow us to export high quality products from Ireland into what is an enormous market”.
