A man is due in court in Co Clare this morning, charged with the possession of nearly €30,000 worth of cocaine that he had ingested into his body.
The 32-year-old Limerick man was arrested at Shannon Airport on Monday after he arrived on a flight from London.
He was then brought to hospital, where it was determined that he had consumed 54 bags of cocaine.
These have been recovered. Gardaí say the drugs have an estimated street value of €29,890.
The man is due before Ennis District Court.
