Gardaí say they are very concerned for the safety of a 15-year-old boy who was abducted in Wexford this afternoon.
A Child Rescue Ireland alert has been issued and a countrywide search operation is underway.
Fifteen-year-old Sait Canbullu was shopping at the junction of High St and Rowe St in Wexford town at around 1.10pm, when he was forced into a dark-coloured saloon car by two men wearing balaclavas.
The car drove off in the direction of Wexford Quays, which could lead towards Rosslare Europort, but the Gardaí believe Sait is still in the country.
Sait is described as 5ft 4in height, of average build, with black hair and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing a dark grey tracksuit and blue/grey Nike running shoes.
Inspector John Ferris of the Garda Press Office said his family are very concerned for his safety.
"His family are very concerned and are urging any member of the public with information to ring us," he said.
"We've been monitoring the ports and we're reasonably confident he is still in the country," he said.
A full scale search operation is underway and the Gardaí are appealing to the public to be vigilant.
They have asked the public to report any detail that may help to 112 or 999.
