Cork sees first signs of flooding
Cork is already starting to see the start of flooding in some areas, more than an hour before high tide for the River Lee.
Storm force conditions are set to batter parts of the country this evening and overnight.
An orange weather alert has been effective since 3pm this afternoon until 9am tomorrow morning for the south and east - with further coastal and river flooding. There is a yellow warning in other counties.
Met Éireann says Cork and Wexford look set to be the worst affected.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says that a €15m humanitarian fund will be provided for victims of the floods.
