Cork City Council meeting abandoned after protestors invade chamber
A meeting of Cork City Council was abandoned last night due to protests inside the chamber.
It is the third time in recent months that a meeting has been abandoned as a result of disturbances.
A group opposed to water charges and property taxes have defended their actions and have vowed to continue their campaign of disrupting council meetings.
After last night's meeting was stopped, new procedures were agreed to ensure protestors can't force the abandonment of city council meetings in future.
