A Cork-based engineer is one of the last 100 candidates for the Mars One mission.
Steve Menaa, who lives in Cobh, is vying to be the only Irish-based person on board for the one-way journey to the red planet.
He is the last remaining Irish-based candidate from an initial 200,000 people from around the world who applied.
