Coppinger accuses Ceann Comhairle of misogyny

Socialist Party Deputy Ruth Coppinger has accused the Ceann Comhairle of an "element of misogyny" in his dealings with her.

The Dublin West TD made the claim on the plinth of the Dáil this evening.

She said that she has no confidence in Seán Barrett as Chair of the Dáil.

"Based on the way that I've been treated by him … I think there's an element of misogyny in his dealings as well," she said.

"He seems to, in relation to myself and Mary Lou Mc Donald - that's even been raised by other people who watch these interventions."
