Coombe admits top-up payments to two senior staff

The Coombe Maternity Hospital in Dublin has admitted it is paying salary top-ups to two senior staff.

One of the staff in question is claimed to be in receipt of €26,000 on top of their annual pay cheque.

The hospital says the money is not coming from charity funds, but generated from rental income instead.

Meanwhile, the Central Remedial Clinic is coming in for criticism again today.

It hit the headlines after it emerged a former boss was getting a salary top-up of €136,00 some of which was coming from money raised through charity.

And according to the Irish Times today, the HSE wrote to the clinic twice this year to criticise the way in which it filled a chief executive post.
