Controlled explosion carried out on hoax device in Kildare
A controlled explosion was carried out by the Army Bomb Disposal Team on a device in Athy, Co Kildare overnight.
It happened at between 1am and 3am in the Rheban Manor estate in the town.
However, the device has since been declared a hoax.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
