Conference to discuss future of post offices
The future of post offices will top the agenda at a conference in Galway this weekend.
The Irish Postmasters' Union holds its annual meeting at the Salthill Hotel, beginning this afternoon at 2pm.
It comes after the IPU published a report by consultants Grant Thornton this week .
It showed that savings of €85m can be made if additional services such as motor tax renewals can be provided at the country's 1,100 post offices.
