An Independent Alliance TD has expressed concern at tensions between Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael, after comments made at the Fianna Fáil party conference last night.
While Fianna Fáil endorsed the deal last night, Barry Cowen was critical of a number of Fine Gael Ministers.
Independents are again meeting with Fine Gael, to see if they will support them in a minority government.
Independent TD for Dublin North Central, Finian McGrath has said the focus must be on Independents now, not on the squabbling parties: “They spent two and a half weeks trying to work out a frame work document that could let us sit down and have serious talks I am concerned about that.
“We are in there now and we are trying to work on a programme for Government, a partnership Government.
“If we can do it I would be absolutely delighted.
“If we can’t do it and they won’t deliver on our key demands: these are the key issues for me, not whether Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are having a scrap on the sidelines.
“The only game in town is the Independents talking to Fine Gael and seeing if we can hammer out an agreement.”
