Committee stage of Nama debate to begin today
22/10/2009 - 08:01:44The committee stage of the Dáil debate on the Government's Nama legislation is due to get underway at Leinster House later today.
The examination of the bill by the Oireachtas Finance Committee would normally be held in a small side-room.
However, given the seriousness of the Nama legislation, the committee stage debate is being held in the Dáil chamber to allow all TDs to participate if they wish.
Despite this, only members of the Finance Committee will be allowed to vote on amendments to the bill.
Normal Dáil business has been suspended until November 3 to allow for the special debate.
