The coastguard, who are searching for two men missing on Sheep's Head in county Cork, said a body has been recovered from the water.
A spokesperson for Valentia coastguard said the body hasn't been identified.
Nothing had been heard from them since one of the men called his mother on Saturday afternoon, telling her they were planning to walk to the local lighthouse in bad weather conditions.
The body has yet to be formally identified but it is believed to be either a Dutchman whose family has a holiday home near Kilcrohane, or that of his German friend who has also been missing since Saturday.
Searches are continuing in the area for the second person.
