The coast guard has come to the aid of a man found unconscious on a fishing trawler in Dublin Bay.

The coast guard has come to the aid of a man found unconscious on a fishing trawler in Dublin Bay.

A helicopter was dispatched this afternoon when he fell into a storage area below deck.

Paramedics tended to the patient on the scene and an ambulance was waiting when the vessel reached Howth's West Pier.

The man who has now regained consciousness is being treated in Beaumont hospital.
