Clinically brain dead pregnant woman being kept alive on life support

It has emerged that a clinically brain dead woman is being kept on life support, against her parents' wishes, because she is pregnant.

It has been reported that the woman's parents are now considering legal action after doctors said they were not permitted to turn off the life support machine.

It has been reported that the woman suffered major injuries as a result of a blood clot - however is being kept on life support in order to preserve the unborn child, who is in the second trimester.

A legal challenge could now be mounted to see whether the Constitution allows doctors to turn off the life support machine.
