A group representing the construction industry is to publish a survey of suppliers, in a bid to stop materials containing pyrite finding their way onto building sites.
The CIF is concerned that despite the existing safeguards, pyritic materials are still being supplied to construction companies.
The bill for remedial works to homes which have been damaged by pyrite will run into many millions of euro.
The Construction Industry Federation says builders do not have the capacity to test materials on site and the responsibility for delivering pyrite free products must lie with the suppliers.
