A Donegal chip shop owner was amazed when he received 400 replies to an advert for a dishwashing job.

A Donegal chip shop owner was amazed when he received 400 replies to an advert for a dishwashing job.

The owner of Charley's Cafe in Letterkenny got more than he bargained for when he advertised the temporary position on the FÁS website.

Donal Cox says many of the applicants were overqualified for the job - most were from outside the area but were prepared to move to Letterkenny and start straight away.

The successful candidate was a local man with experience in the catering trade.
